A man who broke into a house before stealing a radio and a gas cylinder all totaling Sh4,500 has been charged in court.
Stephen Wekesa was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Boke where he pleaded not guilty.
The court heard that the accused person allegedly broke into the house of Kelvin Kimutai on April 5 at Kagira in Dagorreti Sub-County within Nairobi County where he committed the offense.
He was also charged with the second count of handling the Meko grill worth Sh350 knowingly of having reasons to believe that he had stolen them.
He was charged with the third count of refusing to be taken his fingerprints by the officers based at Kabete police station.
He denied all the charges and pleaded for lenient bond terms.
The magistrate released him on Sh300,000 bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.
The court also directed that the accused person be supplied with all the witness statements and documentary pieces of evidence that the prosecution intended to rely on during the entire trial.
The case will be mentioned on April 25 for further directions.
